Last week, PC Campana reached a major milestone at its new Vicksburg, Mississippi facility: the installation of the site’s first core wire mill. The equipment is now in place on the plant floor, marking the transition from construction to production readiness at the company’s newest location.
PC Campana produces the cored wire used by steel mills to precisely add alloying elements during refining. Getting the first mill installed and set is a critical step toward bringing the Vicksburg facility fully online.
Why Vicksburg
The Vicksburg location was chosen to put PC Campana closer to the steel mills it serves throughout the southern United States. A production facility based in Mississippi shortens the distance between the plant and many of the region’s steelmakers, allowing for faster, more reliable delivery of cored wire products and stronger support for customers across the South.
As the facility ramps up, Vicksburg will work alongside PC Campana’s existing operations to expand the company’s overall production capacity and give southern steel producers a closer, more responsive supply source.
What’s Next
With the first core wire mill installed, the Vicksburg team turns to commissioning the equipment and preparing the line for full production. PC Campana will continue to share updates as the facility moves toward operation.
