In our latest Tech Tips video, Joey walks through the key HMI screens you’ll use when operating your P.C. Campana wire feeder. Here’s a quick overview:
The Cycle Screen: Where Every Feed Begins
The cycle screen is the starting point for wire feeding. With the Cycle Start button, you can begin feeding wire at the correct rate, speed, and along the right path. If you need to stop for any reason, the Cycle Stop button—or the physical E-Stop button—ensures immediate shutdown for safety.
In the event of an emergency stop, you’ll also see a Finish Last Cycle option, which allows you to complete the interrupted feed without starting over.
The Setup Screen: Adjust in Real Time
The setup screen allows you to enter wire feed speed and footage. As adjustments are made, the HMI updates in real time—helping you fine-tune the process and ensure consistent chemistry.
The Manual Screen: Jog Mode and Path Control
On the manual screen, you can place a wire path into jog mode by shifting its pinch wheels up. This is essential for testing and fine control of wire feeding. Just remember to set them back down before hitting Cycle Start. The manual screen also includes forward and backward jog functions for quick adjustments.
The Status and Alarm Screens: Monitor and Respond
The status screen displays the various inputs the wire feeder is using. While operators won’t spend much time here, it’s valuable for troubleshooting.
The alarm screen provides real-time warnings and error messages, helping you quickly identify and resolve any issues before they impact operations.
The Maintenance Screen: Keep Equipment Running Smoothly
Preventative care is key to maximizing uptime. The maintenance screen offers recommended service methods and intervals so your feeder stays reliable and efficient.
